Replacement usually makes sense when
- The door is 20 or more years old and needs several major parts at once.
- It isn’t wind-rated for your home, which matters a lot in Palm Beach County.
- Panels are rusted through, cracked or badly dented, or parts are no longer made.
- Your garage is very hot and shares a wall with the house; an insulated door can make a real difference.
- You’re selling the home. A new garage door is one of the most visible curb-appeal upgrades.
Don’t forget the opener
If the opener is old, has no battery backup or is loud, replacing it at the same time as the door saves a separate visit.
